We re-sodded the yard a couple of months ago and added some new plants and stuff. It's not perfect of course, but it's a WHOLE lot better than what it was!
The water feature/plants and patios were already in the yard. It's beautiful in the summer, but the green/orange bush on the fence turns into bare twigs in the winter.
The side yard with the play structure has 3 cherry trees. We were so excited about the cherries we would be eating in the summer. Yeah. The birds really liked them too! We ended up picking them a little soon so most were still a little tart. Maddie wants to put a scarecrow in each tree next year.
The shot showing the table is the expanse of the yard. Small, yes but good for us. The kids have plenty of room to throw and kick a ball around. We have a spot for a table and shade. Perfect! Oh, and we now have a tree in the middle of the grass there. It's a linden maple and should get to be about 25 feet. Enough to shade the back of the house since the sun sets behind us.
The picture that goes along the house is all new plantings and bark. When we first moved in, it was all dirt and rocks and ants. Troy built a planter using the pallets from the sod delivery. i have a two different types of daisys in it.
Things I'd like to add:
A small loveseat or small table and two chairs to sit next to the pond.
hanging baskets to go along the fence
more lighting-probably small solar lights
I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet...working on it though since I think it allows a post to flow much better!
