Blue Flyer Lunch

AT the girls school lunch with the principal is a !huge! deal. In order to have the honor, kids earn Blue Flyer cards by being responisble, respectful etc. Once they reach 20, they turn them in and lunch is scheduled for one Friday a month. The principal brings and serves everyone dessert and the kids just love it!. Well, today it was Sophies' turn.
The principal is new this year and absolutley fantastic. She is young and fresh and has some awesome ideas and wants for our school. And the kids love her which was a huge feat to accomplish! The previous principal had been there for about 9 years and most of the kids knew him from when their older siblings were in school. To say he was loved would be an under statement! But she has earned the admiration and respect from the kids and I can't wait for next year!

MPM March 22

Visit orgjunkie for good stuff to eat! Something I noticed about the menus I looked at already: You can tell where the warmer weather is because there is lots of 'grilled & bbq' and the colder weather is still hanging around those still posting menus with soups and stews. LOL

Sunday- Chicken, mac& cheese(for the kids) & asparagus; Spinach salad for me

Monday - Crunchy tacos and fresh pineapple

Tuesday- Spaghetti & meatballs with salad and garlic bread

Wednesday-Leftovers

Thursday - Pancakes and fruit

Friday - Chicken Lettuce Wraps with rice and fruit salad
Saturday - Grilled chicken & vegetables

New Random Photos

UGH! I dislike pictures of myself but I have started getting in front of the camera more(with stragetically placed children on my lap). This photo was taken in a rush by a friend after school because the PTA needed a photo of all volunteers with their family.
Just another great one of Maddie. She is beyond photogenic and is usually a willing model.

A camellia from my front yard. Of all the plants we have put in over the last almost 2 years, this has been the only one to return. Wait, I do have a gardenia by the front door but it hasn't had any blooms yet.

We also built a raised garden bed yesterday. We tried to grow tomatoes in containers last year and we only got about 3 total. It is large enough for 4 plants so i got all Early Boy. I also bought cilantro and basil for the start of our herbs. The kids were getting restless and Lowe's was super crowded so I'll have to go back for tarragon and I'd like to try mint in a container. I won't plant that in the ground because I know how wild it can get. I'll post pictures as soon as everything is planted.

Wyatt being INCREDIBLY patient for two hours while Sophie sold Girl Scout cookies.
Maddie being incredibly photogenic.

An anchor chain in San Francisco.

The thing that helps me get through most days.

The first official mess on our new flooring. But you know what, a mess on wood floor looks so much nicer than a mess on carpet!

Sophie doing her part for her Brownie Troop! She was the only girl out there and she was able to sell 61 boxes in 2 hours! Way to go Sophie1

Maddie passing the time and being goofy.

And by the way, Diane, if you are looking, then the last two shoots and the first one of Wyatt were SOCC! Not too bad!

It's Back

Yay, I'm back ...still been cooking from home but haven't been too excited about what I've been doing. I've added a new dinner plan option to the menu : kids night. I am trying to expand the kids' palates but they don't always respond well to those meals LOL. So my compromise is a kid friendly night of things like hotdogs, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, tater tots, veggies and fruit of their choice and the like. I like the idea of an easy night of cooking as well!

Sunday- Baked potato soup

Tuesday- Take Out(having floors put in so kitchen may be out of order)

Wednesday- Tacos

Thursday- Chicken-Pesto-Pizza Trying this for the first time and excited because we love ordering this pizza !

Friday- Leftovers / Fend for Yourselves

Saturday- Enchiladas

As a side note I am overjoyed about getting new flooring! It has been number one on my list of wants since we bought the house. We will have a much better visiual flow now and and I can expand the dining room or kitchen, depending on what I want! I will definitley post pics!
