Laura at Orgjunkie is hosting Menu plan Monday. Make sure to check out all the bloggers who link to their weekly menus..TONS of inspiration!
Okie Dokie...the stromboli was "eh" . not sure if it was a cook-induced "eh" or recipe related.
The chicken blt pasta was good. I will tweak the recipe a little and post it after.
Monday- Roasted Turkey ; my mother-in-law defrosted a turkey and cut it in half so I'm picking "my half" up this morning.
Tuesday-Pancakes, eggs, fruit
Wednesday-Beef verde
Thursday- Enchiladas(using leftover beef verde)
Friday-Fridge raid
Saturday-Potato and sausage casserole
Sunday-Spaghetti and meatballs
We'll use whatever is left of the turkey for sandwiches. We aren't overly fond of dark meat but I will probably freeze it for a pot pie later on. And I plan to make double the meatballs for freezing as well.

Pictures of our yard
We re-sodded the yard a couple of months ago and added some new plants and stuff. It's not perfect of course, but it's a WHOLE lot better than what it was!
The water feature/plants and patios were already in the yard. It's beautiful in the summer, but the green/orange bush on the fence turns into bare twigs in the winter.
The side yard with the play structure has 3 cherry trees. We were so excited about the cherries we would be eating in the summer. Yeah. The birds really liked them too! We ended up picking them a little soon so most were still a little tart. Maddie wants to put a scarecrow in each tree next year.
The shot showing the table is the expanse of the yard. Small, yes but good for us. The kids have plenty of room to throw and kick a ball around. We have a spot for a table and shade. Perfect! Oh, and we now have a tree in the middle of the grass there. It's a linden maple and should get to be about 25 feet. Enough to shade the back of the house since the sun sets behind us.
The picture that goes along the house is all new plantings and bark. When we first moved in, it was all dirt and rocks and ants. Troy built a planter using the pallets from the sod delivery. i have a two different types of daisys in it.
Things I'd like to add:
A small loveseat or small table and two chairs to sit next to the pond.
hanging baskets to go along the fence
more lighting-probably small solar lights
I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet...working on it though since I think it allows a post to flow much better!

A Long Time Ago...
I said i would be posting pictures of things I'm doing in the house and I haven't followed through as of yet. That shall be changing however. I'm in the process of putting the finishing touches on a few things and I will be posting the results in a few days.
I failed last week in posting my menu. I was just feeling uninspired and only managed to get 3 meals planned. Even with my lack of planning, we did eat at home every night but one! This week I will be fairing much better..the menu is already done and I'll be posting once OrgJunkie has her MPM post up.

First Day of School
Crazy that we are already starting school! I remember when I was young, school always started the Tuesday after Labor Day. That's still a month off! Anyway, Maddie is going into 4th grade and Sophie is in 1st grade. She was so nervous last night, bless her heart. She cried and and cried and finally went to sleep about 945pm. Of course both girls were up at 515am, ready to go! They'll both sleep well tonite LOL.
So what is Mom going to do now? The same thing she's been doing: keeping the house together, planning meals, running errands and shuttling kids to activities.

Menu Plan Monday
It's Menu Plan Monday at Orgjunkie And I am on week 3 of posting a menu! I did vary one night from dinnerlast week because Maddie and I had a special day to ourselves and we went out to eat. One on one time with our children is rare so we like to make the time special! We've been working so hard at eating from home that Maddie jumped at the chance to eat out when I asked her what she wanted to do.
School starts today and we started soccer last week. This is the first time I've had the kids in weekly activities so planning a menu for this first week has been a little challenging. But I will take advantage of the full week and plan some easy things for dinner. So here it is :
BBQ Beef Melts and cantaloupe( on sale for 33 cents each!)
Grilled Chicken Salad
Taco Salad/Nachos and cantaloupe
Pasta with Cream Sauce, garlic bread and broccoli
Leftovers
Boboli Pizza(free Boboli) and Side Salad with homemade croutons
Beef Shish ka bobs with White Rice

Menu Plan Moday
Menu plan Monday is being guest hosted at The Happy Houswife
In no particular order:
~Tacos & Fresh Fruit
~Asian Chicken Salad(from a free mix I was given to try) and wontons
~Chili and Cornbread
~Chili Dogs and Fresh Fruit
~Grilled Steak and Pesto Tortellini Salad
~Pancakes, Bacon, Fresh Fruit & Scrambled Eggs
~Leftovers
I'm going to throw in breakfast and lunch options this week. We are pretty loosey-goosey when it cames to these meals but we are getting in a rut.
Breakfast:
yogurt & granola, cereal, peanut butter toast, cinnamon toast & fruit
Lunch:
sandwiches- tuna, pbj, grilled cheese, & ham
chicken nuggets
Another thing for the week is that I'm not hitting the stores until this weekend. We have lots in the pantry/freezer(canned and frozen fruit/veggies) and I'd like to get these items used up as they have been in there a while. I did pick up some milk and strawberries & bananas at Costco today but that will be it. Wish me luck!
