Some carfty things ...

I'm by no means an overly creative crafter, but I figured someone out there might be insipired by something I've done...lol

The above layout is Wyatt playing in the leaves from our cherry trees last fall. He loves cars as evidenced by his collection in his room that I just cleaned yesterday! Yikes!
I love to cook... when I want too LOL I love to peruse cooking blogs and cookbooks. I have found some really excellent recipes this way and I plan to put the most used in this little book.
Maddie won 1st place in the fourth grade spelling bee this year...She is a great speller(gets that from me :) ) and her win proves it. I bought this awesome KI Memories kit from Ross for $5 and I've used it sooo much! I love the circles and have never made a layout like this.

My Mom

I'm the type of person who won't say "Happy Birthday" if someone has just said it. I'll wait to get the birthday person alone before I extend my birthday greetings. I'm not riding on anybody elses bandwagon LOL. So that's why this post didn't happen for Mothers' Day.

This post will be dedicated to my Mom, Nancy Carol. No we don't call her that, but my grandparents were from Texas and all the girls have first and middle names that sound great one said together-Delilah Lee, Patricia Gail etc...

My Mom is awesome. And she would absolutley hate this picture! She feels her eyes are too squinty, but that is the very reason I love it. When she laughs and smiles, it shows in her whole face! And she loves to laugh. I share her problem of laughing at inappropriate things at the wrong time.

She loves watching TV and she has certain shows that she could talk about endlessly-even if you have never wtched them yourself! She is also a big reader. When I was younger, it was bodice rippers, now it's vampires. She's also a good cook. But she is lazy(like me-hmm wonder where I get it from) and just wants to make the easiest thing to get dinner done and over with. S

She's famous for her fudge and rocky road candy. They are a must have from her during all holiday activities. Everyone tells her she could make a business off just those two desserts...she laughs at them and says " well, so could anyone. The recipe for the fudge is on the marshmallow creme jar!".

Mom has had some great personal challenges in her life. As she has worked through those challenges, she has shown me that you're never too old to learn from your parents. And it's not strange to be proud of them too.

Love you Mom!

Cricut project

I made these cute little beach balls for my friend Diane. She is writing party invite info on a deflated beach ball and sending them in a clear box. These balls will have address labels placed over the face and put on the top inside of the clear box. She has sent many things this way and it's so cute! This cut is from CREATE A CRITTER for the Cricut. It seems to be my go to cartridge lately. Excuse the quality of the picture, I took it with my cell phone. The colors are very similar to HotDog on A Stick LOL

This would be cute as an invitation alone. The base layer of this cut is solid and you can directly on it...put a cute saying on the front, and you're all set!

Menu Monday May 10

Ugh...It seems every few weeks I fall off the wagon. SO FRUSTRATING! And to top it off, this week I can feel a food rut coming on. I've been perusing orgjunkie and all the menus posted today and I have a unexciting plan. Oh well, getting back up on the horse is the best i can do.
Sunday- BBQ hamburgers, potato salad, pineapple
Monday-Kid made- Mac & cheese & watermelon
Tuesday- pancakes, fresh fruit
Wednesday-(Open House) Frozen Pizza and salad
Thursday- Potato and bacon soup
Friday-Enchiladas ,spanish rice salad
Saturday- Baked Creamy chicken taquitos from here. I've had it on the menu before but haven't made it yet.
Some of the issue is that I've been sick with bronchitis for about 3 weeks. And of course I didn't hit the dr until last week. Feeling cruddy and tired does not make for great meals. Need to do an food inventory check to get back on track-see where I'm starting from...

What's up and pics

This first picture is a card I made with the Create a Critter cricut cartridge. I'm not usually a card maker and looking at this photo tells me I need to work on keeping things straight! I love this cart though! The animals and accessories are just fabulous!
Here's Wyatt who has been way into his Woody boots. Now that it's warm, I've had to hide them because he gets a bad case of the feet stinkies when wearing these in the heat!

Maddie, always willing with a smile or funny face when I have my camera out. Her lips are beautiful! So full and red! When she isn't smiling, they are the perfect little bow.

My dear sweet cousin Jodie and her husband Mike. They are expecting their first baby In June and we are all so excited! They are a great couple and will be fantastic parents!

And Sophie has finally conquered the two wheeler! YAY! She didn't care for a long time, and then recently, all she wanted us to do was to teach her how. Weather didn't cooperate for a few weeks, but last weekend, she did it! The photo above was taken just about an hour after she had started cruising on her own. She looks like a pro already!
